Furniture, consisting of two tables, ten stools beds and stoves, were furnished by the Germans. The ever present ingenuity of Kregies have supplied “easy chairs” from packing cases, shelves, cupboards and sideboards. Cooking utensils have been supplied by our captors as well as the Canadian Red Cross. Many additional articles have been constructed from tin cans - bits of wood etc. These include spoons for cooking, spatulas, potatoe mashers, soap “sudders”, graters, tea strainers, and other odd bits.

Rations at present consist of ½ Red Cross parcel (English - Canadian or American) plus German issue of potatoes, barley, bread, coffee and sometimes meat in the form of blood sausage, roast or ground bits. Jam, honey, cottage & fish
