One William enlisted under Nathaniel Rand in Rye, along with a John TREFETHEN Jr., on 04 March 1776. That was probably this William (John TREFETHEN ⁰²⁰⁸ was possibly his uncle).
A William signed a Military Grievance on 09 February 1785: the men were tired of being switched from regiment to regiment.
A William signed a petition on 20 January 1784, Rye, to keep ‘Jenness’ as Justice of the Peace.
Married on 27 January 1774 in Rye, New Hampshire
All his children were born in Rye.
Wife (19 November 1753-12 February 1837) was daughter of Nathaniel (born 18 September 1732; son of William & grandson of William) & Elizabeth (Hall- daughter of John & Mary [Merrifield]), who married 08 February 1753 ^{[Source 38]^.}
He (William) built the house at 333 Washington Rd., Rye, and moved into it in 1790.
Was apparently a farmer, as his son John took over the farm at some point and then passed it on to his own son.
