Married in Nov. 1835. Wife: 20 April 1808 - 29 January 1854 (S58 says she died in December)
1848 moved to Illinois with 6 Children.
1860 moved to Washington County, Kansas after wife's death with 2 daughters. His sons followed after the war. The Marshall Co. KS Census of this year finds him in Blue Rapids township as a farmer living with Hubbard (#0138) age 23 farm laborer, Alfred (#0091) age 21 farm laborer, David (#95) age 17, and Hanson (#94) age 10; and dtrs. Ellen (#0092) age 18 and Octavia (#0093) aged 13. All are listed as being born in New Hampshire.[S36].
Family tradition has it that he was 'on a whaling ship; an adventurer[S43] but we've found nothing yet to confirm this.
Listed as a Fisherman in 1850 Rye New Hampshire Census.
NOTE: he is sometimes erroneously referred to as 'Thomas' and 'Samuel'. S36 lists him as Thomas JOE SEBASTIAN.
