Biography:
Born in Dover, New Hampshire
Born in Dover, 05 January 1926, the son of Harold and Mary (HARRISON) Trefethen,
He grew up in Portsmouth and graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1944.
He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps
Married in 1946
Resided in Portsmouth, Stratham, North Hampton and Dover (all New Hampshire)
He did his apprenticeship with the Electrical Union and became a Master Electrician and worked for the union and later went to work for the Essex/Macallen/United Technologies Complex in Newmarket, starting as an electrician, receiving several promotions, eventually becoming plant manager.
He enjoyed camping as a member of the Good Sam Club, liked to fish and had many skills including carpentry, plumbing and masonry. He and his wife Leah built their own home at one time. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an active member of the Dover Senior Center.
Retired in March, 1987

DOVER – William A. Trefethen, 87, of The Garrison Condos, Durham Road., died Sunday, February 3, 2013, at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, after a brief illness, with his family gathered around him.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of more than 66 years Leah (KIMBALL) Trefethen, four children:
Diane Bradley of Fort Myers, Florida
David Trefethen of Franklin, Massachusetts,
Dean Trefethen and wife Margaret of Dover, and
Donna Geno and husband Stephen of Lee, Maine.
He is also survived by a
sister June Coffey of Portsmouth. He also leaves
nine grandchildren:
Erik Roberson and wife Heather,
Cathi Makos and husband John,
William Bradley Jr,
Ian Trefethen,
Jonathan Trefethen,
Robin Prescott and husband Timothy,
Daniel Trefethen,
Stephanie Eaton and husband Frank, and
Michael Geno and wife Jen;
six great-grandchildren
Liam Roberson,
Evan Roberson,
Brianna Makos,
Colby Makos,
Austin Prescott and
Meghann and Chad Eaton;
as well as several nieces and nephews.
