Alice and Fred were divorced. The 1880 Census shows her and daughter Laura living with Alice’s parents in Lynn

Married Hattie on 28 February 1883, in Lynn, Massachusetts. She was an 'Operative', born in Nova Scotia; daughter of Abel & Miriam - this was her 1st mar. He was a shoe heeler age 36; his 2nd marriage. [Source 36: Massachusetts Marriage Records]
Married Rebecca on 26 November 1885, in Lynn. She was 39, born in Plymouth, Massachusetts, daughter of Albert G. & Eleanor Leach. Her 2nd mar. Rebecca died in Lynn, Massachusetts; age 46 of Consumption on 9 November 1890. [Source 36: Massachusetts Marriage & Death Records].
Resided in Taunton, Massachusetts in 1900

- Fred⁰⁷¹² here was born in 1847
- Frank H. TREFETHEN⁰⁸²⁸, his son, was born 7 years later than his father and 3 years later than Alice (Maybe Fred's wife), and 7 years before the first definite wife.
- Frank Lloyd TREFETHEN¹³⁰⁵ was born 10 years after the 1st possible wife (Alice) was born, and definitely before the marriages of Fred's definite 2 wives.^{[Source 138 via 147]}
