- Enlisted 3 November 1775, for 8 days service in the Field Artillery Company under Dr. Hall Jackson (on Brass Piece #1).
- A Private.
- On Nov. 18, 1776, he's listed as deserting the Co. of Ebenezer Dearing.
- A George TREFETHEN of Portsmouth was captured on 24 December 1776 off the brigantine DALTON & taken to 'Old Mill Prison' in England.
- Was exchanged on 15 March 1779.
- Described as 5'9 in. tall, thick set, dark complextion, black hair.
- COULD be son of George TREFETHEN215; but other than the names being the same, there's no solid proof
