A Republican in later years.
Sarah: (19 September 1801 - 26 May 1856)
Married Sally on 13 December 1822 in Friendship, Maine; she was from Cranberry Island, born 19 September 1801, daughter of Lieutenant. James & Elizabeth (Davis); he resided on Monhegan at the time. [S77].
Was selected Monhegan Island Assessor in 1840 - 44, 1846, 1848, 1851 - 1853, & 1855; School Agent in 1847 - 1848; and held assorted other posts.
Bought half of his fathers' mansion, 'The Influence', for $10 in 1829; and the western half from John Baxter for $1700. in 1840..
Mary bore him Lettie, Dexter, Villa, and Georgia.[S42]
LUCRETIA TREFETHEN (# 0159) (26 November 1834-1916) B. Monhegan Island. Married Rufus PIERCE in April, 1855 (or '56) on Monhegan and had 3 Children. Rufus was from Monhegan Island where they resided. [s36]
Clarissa 'Clara W. TREFETHEN (# 0160) (02 March 1841 - 1909) B. Monhegan Island, Portland, Maine. Married William Henry PIERCE 04 March 1859 on Monhegan Island [S.36] Resided on Monhegan Island and later in Portland, Maine. Children: George, Samuel, Jennie (married ? Thompson)
