Married around 1847 [Source 129]. Wife was born in1829; died in 1910.; daughter of Hayden (1795 - 1875) & Sarah (BROWN)(1797 - 1872). Her parents are buried on Peaks Island in a weed covered area near the ocean. They owned the meadow next to the Trefethens. on Monhegan Island.[Source 39].
Was elected Monhegan Island. Pound Keeper in 1845 & 1847; a Field Driver in 1846; Fence Viewer in 1846, 1850 & 1851; Assessor in 1848 - 1848, 1851 - 1855, 1858 & 1866; Surveyor of Roads in 1852; School Agent in 1856; and a member of the School Committee in 1862 [Source 129:27]
