Married during November 1835. Wife: 20 April 1808 - 29 January 1854 (Some say she died in December^{[Source 58]})
1848 moved to Illinois with 6 Children.
1860 moved to Washington County, Kansas after wife’s death with 2 daughters. His sons followed after the war. The Marshall County, Kansas Census of this year finds him in Blue Rapids township as a farmer living with Hubbard TREFETHEN¹³⁸ age 23 farm laborer, Alfred TREFETHEN⁰⁰⁹¹ age 21 farm laborer, David TREFETHEN⁰⁰⁹⁵ age 17, and Hanson TREFETHEN⁰⁰⁹⁴ age 10; and daughters Ellen TREFETHEN⁰⁰⁹² age 18 and Octavia TREFETHEN⁰⁰⁹³ aged 13. All are listed as being born in New Hampshire.^{[Source 36]}.
Family tradition has it that he was ’on a whaling ship; an adventurer ^{[Source 43]} but we’ve found nothing yet to confirm this.
Listed as a Fisherman in 1850 Rye New Hampshire Census.
NOTE: he is sometimes erroneously referred to as ‘Thomas’ and ‘Samue’. Another lists him as Thomas Joe SEBASTIAN^{Source 36}.
