1848 moved to Illinois with 6 Children.
1860 moved to Washington County, Kansas after wife’s death with 2 daughters. His sons followed after the war. The Marshall County, Kansas Census of this year finds him in Blue Rapids township as a farmer living with Hubbard TREFETHEN138 age 23 farm laborer, Alfred TREFETHEN0091 age 21 farm laborer, David TREFETHEN0095 age 17, and Hanson TREFETHEN0094 age 10; and daughters Ellen TREFETHEN0092 age 18 and Octavia TREFETHEN0093 aged 13. All are listed as being born in New Hampshire.[Source 36].
Family tradition has it that he was ’on a whaling ship; an adventurer [Source 43] but we’ve found nothing yet to confirm this.
Listed as a Fisherman in 1850 Rye New Hampshire Census.
