Born, Resided & Died in Kittery, Maine [grave marker]
Filed intent to wed on 26 August 1856 [Source 133] and married the next day on 27 August 1856 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Wife was from Portsmouth. [Source 36: New Hampshire Marriage Records] She was daughter of Nathan & Lucy M. Hoyt of Portsmouth; m(2). Charles N. Holmes of New Braintree, Massachusetts on 25 May 1865 probably in Portsmouth, New Hampshire [Source 36: New Hampshire Bride’s Index]
Died at age 28 yrs., 1 mo. [Source 133]. His tombstone has a death date as 27 July 1865 as opposed to the date above from Kittery Vital Records
