John’s wife was Emma Copeland, born on 29 Aug 1818 to Samuel COPELAND and Emma Cummings (JUMPER). Not sure which is the maiden name of Emma Sr. [Source 36]
A farmer and life-long resident of Maine, as was his father, John Sr
In 1903 he was retired, aged 85, and living in Dover, Maine
His wife, whose maiden name was Emma Copland, was also alive in 1903, and was 82 years old
