Biography:
I was recently on the web trying to find out information on my mother's maiden name, Pevear. Strangely enough the name Helen M. TREFETHEN came up. Not knowing who she was, I asked my mother. She was my mothers grandmother and my great grandmother. Her son Charles Pevear is my grandfather. I was very suprised to find so much on the TREFETHEN family. Helen had seven children with Oscar Pevear; Charles, Oscar Jr. (who recently passed away), Lowella, Frank, Mary, Brenda, and "Tootie" (My mother doesn't remember his real name.) They were all born in New Hamshire. Charles Pevear married and had my mother in Exeter. She was the first grandchild of Helen and Oscar. She grew up in New Hamshire and went to High School in Newport. Small world huh? Oscar Pevear's family has been traced back to Normandy, France. They were Huegenots who were being persecuted by the Catholic King. They came to America in the 17th Century. A father and two sons fought in the Revolution. I was proud to find out that members of the TREFETHEN family also fought. Thank you for all the time you spent on the family tree, it was worth it. ...
Thank you again.
