Was listed as 'missing' when wife sold some land in Moultonborough to Eliphlet Mace on 13 August 1799. [Source 129: Stafford Co. Deeds, 31:232]. She is listed as a widow residing in Portsmouth, New Hampshire in same deeds (43:74) on 19 December 1801
Inventory of his estate included a lot with the house on Horse Lane, Portsmouth

Subject: TREFETHEN: Tax Protest of Abraham TREFETHEN (#597) Date: Sat, 10 Jan 1998
Among the Newcastle tax information that I collected today was the following interesting item.
Six taxpayers, including Capt Abraham TREFETHEN (#597), were said to have outstanding "Parish" tax liablities for 1787 and 1788. It was said that "...the above were Protestors Against Mr. Noble’s Installment." The Reverend Mr. Noble was evidently the new minister of Newcastle. At this time, there was still an "established" church, whose support was mandatory, through "Parish" tax rates.
