Married Elva on 05 February 1889 and Minnie (daughter of Winslow D. & Mariah [LAWRENCE] of Lubec, Maine) in September 1892.
A stevedore, having as many as 300 men loading & unloading cargo ships.
He was obviously someone who knew how to stay busy: in 1895 he became a partner in his father's fish business, eventually taking over. He was also the director of the Independent Cold Storage & Ice Company of Newport, Rhode Island, President of the Portland Cold Storage Company, Presiden of the Trefethen & Webster Lumber Company, Treasurer of Spear Auto Company, member of Cobb & Trefethen (a retail fish company), a Selectman during 1898 - 1900, and Portland's Mayor during 1901 - 1902 (Republican).
If this information is correct, he's the twin of #1299, Newell Fales.
