Married on 06 June 1894, on Peaks Island. Wife: born 30 October 1871 on Peaks Island, daughter of Charles & Mary (WELCH) of Portland.
Resided on Peaks' Island. She was a bookkeeper for W.S. Jordan & Co. for 13 years. In 1898 he went to work for his uncle Newell's Lobster & Real Estate businesses, and he soon took over the Lobster trade. Under his guidance, the business became one of the largest exporters of lobsters in the state, and he inherited the business when his uncle died in 1903 [S129].
He was also treasurer & manager of the Welch Land Company.
