Born in Kittery, Maine.
A painter. [s36:census]
In 1850 he is found in San Francisco (aged 24) most probably mining for gold. The August & October 1852 Census there, as well as a daughter's birth record, list him as a painter, born in Massachusetts, resided in Boston.
Married 13 November 1853; in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Both are listed as residents of that town, and he was son of William & Sarah. Harriet was age 23; born in Kittery; daughter of Theodore & Lydia. Both were 1st marriages. [S36:MA MAR./SOUNDEX].
In 1858 he was living in Taunton, Massachusetts [daughter's Birth Rec.]
Wife 1829 - 1905 [Marker]. She is found by the Census as living with her daughter's family (Laura0984) in 1900 Somerville, Massachusetts.
Was 60 when he died [S133]. Both he & wife are buried in Kittery.
